On stripping women naked

Recently some women were stripped naked in the cities of Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu by what some have described as vendors. Various comments have been made regarding this barbaric act.

What has caught my attention most are the comments which seem to justify this ugly act basing on the Bible or Christianity. Some have argued that it is unchristian for women to put on trousers hence the vendors are justified with what they did.

Assuming that it is indeed unbiblical for women to put on trousers, would God be pleased with undressing women in the streets because they have broken his command? If putting on trousers by women is unbiblical is stripping them naked biblical?

The Bible is very clear on the issue of sin. It says that all of us have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. The only remedy for sin is faith in Jesus Christ which comes by the teaching or preaching of God’s Word. So, in essence, God’s word is the only remedy for sin.

Now, why don’t those who believe that putting on trousers by women is sinful use God’s word to address the sin instead of encouraging the use of ungodly means to achieve what they believe is godly.  The end can’t justify the means.

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent  or praiseworthy, think about such things” (Philippians 4:8).

I don’t believe undressing women in the streets in praiseworthy, do you?
